Fabien Carbon

Trained as an engineer, I am also a musician. I mainly play the gralla (oboe) and the sac de gemecs (bagpipe) which are traditional Catalan wind instruments.

I have been making and tuning double oboe reeds for about ten years mainly for my personal use. Meetings with Bruno Salanson and Pierre Jorda-Manaut, both makers of traditional wind instruments, have enriched my reflection on the complexity ofcanya. The multiple exchanges that I was able to have with other makers, musicians, connoisseurs of Arundo donax, allowed me to improve my techniques and my know-how in the manufacture of reeds.

In 2022, I create the company Taller FC which offers reeds of different types for traditional oboes.
